OSHO Active Meditation Explained
OSHO Active Meditations are a highly effective method if your mind just won't calm down or if your body won't stop twiching and restlessly moving all the time while you try to sit crosslegged on your cushion and be perfectly still. If you crave silence, relaxation and serenity but no matter how hard you try just won't find it try the OSHO Active Meditations. You'll be amazed! They can work wonders! On this webpage you'll find the instructions for the three 'main' OSHO Meditations. There are many others as well, which you'll find here.
Active meditation simply means that we involve the body actively through mindful movement. This can also be very dynamic and yet mindful.
The body becomes an instrument: In the first stage of some meditations we practice some more or less intense activities like jogging, dancing, shaking, jumping and with other meditations we practice no more than a suble slow hand movement. What follows the activity is silence. And it comes naturally as the cathartic movement in the previous stage has been released and made room for silence, which, as Osho says, is our natural state.
The movement activates the body and the sympathetic nervous system. Then as a result the body responds with deep relaxation. First everything is brought to a boil, then it can relax.
These Osho Dynamic Meditations, like the many other Osho Active Meditations, work on a level that is beyond the cognitive mind. With this, inner blockages can be released. The result is not just greater serenity. Over time, these active meditations can also be used to let go of stubborn patterns that have adversely affected our lives. In the long term, these methods contribute to greater inner freedom, more zest for life and a free flow of energy.
Osho, an enlightened mystic and the 'inventor' of most famous active meditations, said:
"As far as modern humans are concerned, I insist on active meditation instead of silent meditation. Because your energy needs to be released, it needs catharsis. You have too much energy and no action for the energy ... Let the energy flow. You merge with existence through action. And when the energy is gone and you relax, silence happens naturally. "(Osho)
There are numerous active meditation techniques, and they are a very powerful tool in attaining a meditative state. These methods act quickly and effectively.

Where
We will meet at the specified time on Zoom, you will receive the link after registration. The meditations last 60 minutes and are explained in detail beforehand. After the meditation we have time to share the experience and ask questions. We'll end around 9:45 p.m. If you prefer to remain in silence after the meditation, you can also leave the meeting right after the meditation. The event is free of charge. Clothes & Props
Please wear loose, comfortable clothing. Many meditations require a mat to lie down and a cushion or chair to sit on. It is helpful to have enough space for the active phase. If you stretch out your arms and turn around on the spot there should be enough space. It is advisable to have a blanket at hand for the relaxation phase.
